Tecta Terms of Use

These terms are an agreement between you and the developer of Tecta (“we”) about your use of Tecta. By using Tecta, you accept them.

1. Getting Tecta through Setapp

You get Tecta through Setapp. Setapp’s terms govern your purchase or subscription, payment, refunds and license activation.

2. Your license

While your Setapp purchase or subscription is active, you may use Tecta for your own work on the Macs it covers. You may not resell or redistribute Tecta, or work around its license check, except where the law allows it.

3. What Tecta needs

Tecta works with Claude Code, which you install and sign in to yourself. Anthropic’s terms govern your use of Claude Code and your Claude account. Summaries count toward your Claude account’s usage and any charges on it. Tecta’s daily token cap limits how much it summarizes, but you remain responsible for your account’s usage and charges.

4. Changes to your files

With your permission, Tecta edits ~/.claude/settings.json to add its hooks, after saving a backup copy. It does not change your projects or your code.

5. Summaries can be wrong

Summaries are written by an AI model and can be incomplete or wrong. Check a session yourself before you approve a command or rely on a summary.

6. No affiliation

Tecta is an independent app. It is not made, endorsed or supported by Anthropic. Claude and Claude Code are trademarks of Anthropic, PBC.

7. No warranty

Tecta is provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows.

8. Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential damages, or for loss of data or profits, arising from your use of Tecta. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer protection law that cannot be waived.

9. Changes and ending

We may update these terms. If we do, we’ll update this page and its effective date. You can stop using Tecta at any time by deleting it.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of France, without affecting mandatory consumer protections in your country of residence.
